I have printed the final exam. On it, I include passages from the following songs:
- Aïcha
- Avec le vent
- Echo
- Elle me dit
- La route de la paix
- Le jour après la fin du monde
Plastic Bertrand's "Ça plane pour moi" is just too crazy and disconnected and Eiffel's "Place de mon cœur" felt just a little too abstract for this translation test.
I am taking the passages for translation from the first half or first couple verses of each song (plus the chorus, the repeated part). Note that "La route de la paix" really just has two verses along with its chorus.

On the written final, CAH will give you passages from each song and ask you to translate those lyrics into English. Preserving meaning is important; preserving rhyme is an optional poetic challenge.
