French 2: Friday April 20 Lesson Plan

DUE: Vocab 9.1 Writing Practice! pp. 310–313
  1. Write all movie and novel words in pictures and in D'autres mots utiles four times. Wherever possible, include the name of a film, novel, or person who is an example of the term!
  2. Write all Entre copains terms (p. 312) four times.
  3. Write all Exprimons-nous! phrases (pp. 311 and 313) three times.
{10 minutes} Vocab Warm-up! Students trio up, one student gives vocab word from 310–311, other students give their examples. e.g.: Élève 1 dit, "Un film de science-fiction"; les autres deux disent, "The Wrath of Khan! The Matrix!"
  • CAH checks homework for points during this time!
{20 minutes} Vos films et romans préférés
  • Students get three minutes to think of their favorite film and their favorite book and one sentence explaining why they like them so much.
  • First practice in trios, "Quel est ton film préféré? Mon film préféré est ___, parce que.... Quel est ton roman préféré? Mon roman préféré est ___, parce que...."
  • Then all students present answers to class.
{30 minutes} La nouvelle grammaire: Relative Pronouns! qui, que, dont p. 314
Les Devoirs:
  1. Due Tuesday: Translate 15 relative pronoun sentences, five using qui, five using que, five using dont. See below!
  2. Due Thursday: Create movie poster! Pick a movie you really like, create a French-language poster that would entice French speakers to come see it.Your text should include the title, names of actors/actresses, the director, and "critics' comments" (you can make these up!). All text, including the title of the movie, should be in French!
  3. Due lundi, le 30 avril: Study for Vocab Quiz 9.1!

  11. I saw the actor whose last movie was a flop.
  12. They saw the director whose last spy movie a hit.
